Although college is considered the “best years” of a young adult’s life, sometimes those years may seem like the worst. Nevertheless, there is no need to fear because help is on the way! Below are five tips that you can add to your daily schedule to manage these years and more without going insane:
1.) Put you’re foot down!
Remember you are in control and you should let no one or anything take control of or over you.
Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you. Luke 10:19 NLT
2.) Breathe… You are not alone!
When you feel like you are about to break, step away from the situation and just
B-R-E-A-T-H-E. Keep in mind that God knows and sees EVERYTHING that you are going through, for he says:
Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. Isaiah 41:10 NLT
3.) Take a break and relax!
Set aside thirty minutes to an hour for yourself daily. You deserve it!
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28 NLT
4.) Don’t put more on yourself than you can bear!
God doesn’t so why should you?
The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure. 1 Cor. 10:13 NLT
5.) Just Do You!
Take your God-given talent and use it to the extreme! If you like to sing, pick a song and sing it at the top of your lungs. If you’re a dancer, pick a song and just dance! If you draw, get that pencil and go to town. If you don’t do any of these JUST HAVE FUN! Let loose! That’s what I do. Make up your own song. Sing off-key. Hop around and make a new dance. Hey, you never know it could be the next “Crank That” phenomena!
God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. 1 Peter 4:10 NLT
